Simple Sentences

  • Definition: A simple sentence consists of one independent clause and no dependent clauses. It expresses a single complete thought.
  • Examples:
    • “She reads books.”

  • Characteristics:
    • Contains one subject and one verb.
    • Can stand alone as a complete sentence.
